Decentralized data network Vana announced it has acquired the team behind Memory Protocol, an open data protocol in the Base ecosystem, and has launched a beta test for an upgraded version of its Vana app. According to Foresight News, Memory lead Jack Spallone has joined Vana to oversee related technical integration, while the acquisition price was not disclosed.
Vana said the upgraded app provides users with a personal data server deployed on local devices and controlled by the user. The server can connect to information including Spotify listening history, Oura sleep data, calendars, and cross-platform conversations.
The company said data is stored locally rather than on platform servers, and users can grant or revoke third-party application access permissions.
