China Commodity Futures Close Higher; Fuel Oil and Crude Oil Jump Over 6%

China’s commodity futures closed mixed on July 8, with energy and chemicals leading gains, according to Jiemian News. LU fuel oil and crude oil rose more than 6%, while pure benzene gained over 5%. Styrene and methanol climbed more than 4%, and LPG and polypropylene rose more than 3%. PET bottle chip and caustic soda added more than 2%, while polyester staple fiber and ethylene glycol increased more than 1%. On the downside, stainless steel and lithium carbonate fell more than 2%, while apples and cotton declined more than 1%; live hogs and peanuts edged lower.
