Secret Network said it will partner with Arbitrum and plans to migrate its SCRT token to the Arbitrum network. According to Foresight News, the project will take a one-time snapshot of SCRT holdings on September 1, 2026, and then issue a new ERC-20 version of SCRT on Arbitrum.
The report said holders will be able to claim the new tokens using a Merkle root proof. It added that no prior asset deposit is required and there is no claim deadline.
The snapshot will cover native SCRT and staked SCRT, including amounts in the unbonding process. It will not include sSCRT, SCRT held in contracts or liquidity pools, or cross-chain tokens. Users will need to convert those excluded forms back into native SCRT or staked SCRT before September 1.
Separately, the team has proposed reducing SCRT inflation from 9% to 5%. It also said that if the proposal passes a community governance vote, SCRT Labs will stop maintaining Secret Network and will open-source all code under a permissive license. The plan remains a proposal and still requires on-chain governance approval.
