Moonbeam will officially shut down on July 31, 2026, according to a notice from cross-chain protocol Wormhole.
According to ChainCatcher, Wormhole said Moonbeam will keep its parachain running during a transition period, but the chain will stop operating after July 31.
Wormhole added that after that date, Portal and Wormhole contributors will not be able to help recover any assets stored on the chain. It advised users to bridge external assets off Moonbeam through Moonbeam’s official channels before the deadline.
Moonbeam previously announced it would fully exit the Polkadot ecosystem and migrate the GLMR token 1:1 to the Base network.
