Sixteen listed companies have exited China's A-share market so far in 2026, roughly unchanged from the same period last year, with delistings spanning financial-trigger delistings, mandatory delistings for major violations, trading-related delistings, and voluntary delistings, according to 36Kr. Tian Lihui, a finance professor at Nankai University, said A-share delistings are becoming more routine as regulators remove companies involved in major violations and identify firms that have lost going-concern capability using multiple financial and trading indicators. Tian added that the pace of A-share delistings could accelerate and warned investors against speculating in delisting stocks.
