Anthropic has removed hidden tracking markers from Claude Code after researchers identified undisclosed signals that could be used to identify some users.
According to NS3.AI, researcher Thariq Shihipar said the markers were part of a March experiment aimed at addressing account abuse by unauthorized resellers and potential distillation attacks.
The company removed the markers following the findings.
