Norway coach Stale Solbakken said some of his players have been suffering from illness ahead of Saturday’s World Cup quarter-final with England in Miami, though he said they are recovering, according to Yahoo Sports. Norway reached the last eight by beating five-time champions Brazil 2-1 on Sunday, with Erling Haaland scoring twice and Neymar converting a late penalty.
Norwegian outlet Dagbladet reported that striker Jorgen Strand Larsen and defender Marcus Holmgren Pedersen were among those affected; Pedersen missed the Brazil match due to sickness, and Solbakken also suggested assistant coach Kent Bergersen had been unwell. England advanced with a 3-2 win over Mexico in Mexico City and will be without Jarell Quansah after a straight red card, while Jordan Henderson injured his wrist celebrating that win.
