South Korea's Kospi index fell more than 8% and triggered a circuit breaker at 1:51 PM local time, according to Ming Pao, citing Bloomberg.

Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix shares both dropped more than 10%. The Kospi was last down 5.9%.
