Alipay has launched an AI open platform and opened an invitation-only testing program for enterprise developers and outsourced development service providers.
According to Foresight News, the Alipay AI open platform will provide ecosystem partners with tools to build AI capabilities, including support for upgrading existing mini programs, API interfaces, and service functions into AI-callable MCPs, Skills, or Agents without starting from scratch.
The platform also aims to help merchants reach users across multiple endpoints. After integration, merchants can provide intelligent services to Alipay’s 1 billion users through Alipay’s assistant, and can authorize various smart terminals to recommend and call these services.
In addition, the platform will offer basic support for hosting, distributing, trading, and settling AI-enabled service capabilities, enabling services to generate business value when they are invoked.
Alipay said the platform is designed to reduce research and development costs by using cross-end connectivity so merchants do not need to develop separate adaptations for each terminal, with the open platform acting as an intermediary layer to unify protocol conversion.
