Dow futures little changed after Dow closes above 53,000 for first time; Rivian drops on 75 million-share offering

According to CNBC, Dow Jones Industrial Average futures were little changed after a record-setting session that pushed the Dow above 53,000 for the first time, with futures up 29 points, or 0.1%, while S&P 500 futures and Nasdaq-100 futures traded near flat. Rivian shares fell more than 7% after the electric vehicle maker began a common stock public offering of 75 million shares, and SpaceX slipped about 1% ahead of its Tuesday entrance into the Nasdaq 100. On Monday, the Nasdaq Composite rose more than 1% as semiconductor names rebounded, with Western Digital up 7% and Advanced Micro Devices up 6.6%, while the S&P 500 gained 0.7%. Dell climbed more than 4% after President Donald Trump encouraged consumers to buy its computers at a White House event, while Microsoft fell after announcing 4,800 job cuts. Separately, Walmart shares ticked lower after the bell after Trump said the retailer would lower prices, including ground beef by almost 15%. Vertex Pharmaceuticals fell more than 2% after announcing an agreement to acquire Crinetics for $85 per share in cash, valuing the deal at about $10 billion, with the transaction expected to close in the third quarter of 2026.
