A HyperSwap user lost about $12,300 after clicking a fake airdrop link on X and approving a wallet request that let a scammer take control of his funds. According to BeInCrypto, blockchain records show the attacker transferred the victim’s HyperSwap V3 liquidity-position NFT #178549 at 20:21:51 UTC on June 29, then withdrew about 3,935 USDC and 116.6 WHYPE, swapped into about 175.9 HYPE and bridged to Ethereum via LI.FI.
The phishing address 0x880C95246D7525b84902E6c040818a7C72d3Aa77 was flagged as Fake_Phishing3746335 by HashDit; BeInCrypto said there was no evidence HyperSwap’s official account or contract carried out the theft.
