Stock-based real-world asset (RWA) perpetual futures became the largest category by open interest (OI) in June, surpassing commodities for the first time, according to DWF Labs.

According to Foresight News, DWF Labs said in a social media post that stock-based RWA OI rose 7.9 times from $166 million at the start of the year to $1.3 billion, accounting for 35% of total RWA perpetual futures OI for the month.

DWF Labs added that commodities followed closely with $1.2 billion in OI.

The firm attributed the increase mainly to demand linked to popular memory-related stocks, including SK Hynix, Micron, and SanDisk.
