China has issued the third batch of major construction projects for 2026, allocating 193.5 billion yuan in ultra-long-term special treasury bond funding.
According to Jin10, the full list of major construction projects for this year has now been released.
Since the start of this year, the National Development and Reform Commission, together with relevant industry regulators, has arranged 800 billion yuan to support construction of 1,417 major projects. The projects cover areas including technological innovation, ecological protection and restoration in the Yangtze River basin, major transport infrastructure along the Yangtze River, urban underground pipeline networks, major water conservancy works, the western land-sea corridor, quality upgrades in higher education, and the Three-North Shelterbelt Program.
The statement also said authorities are accelerating work on planning, policy formulation, and institutional and mechanism innovation. Measures mentioned include improving railway investment and financing as well as pricing and fee mechanisms, supporting Yangtze River cities in reforming wastewater treatment charging models, studying standards for stable service-life periods for various flood-control facilities, and deepening comprehensive reforms to agricultural water pricing, in order to advance major construction tasks with high quality.
