7-Eleven has filed a lawsuit against Nike in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, alleging trademark infringement and unfair competition over Nike’s planned July 11 release of the Air Max 95 “Big Bubble QS 2” (style code IR1944-102), according to Jiemian News. 7-Eleven claims the shoe’s side stripes use a color combination highly similar to its signature horizontal orange, green and red stripes, and alleges Nike intentionally set the launch date on “7-Eleven Day,” the retailer’s annual promotional day, in violation of the U.S. Lanham Act. As of July 6, Nike had not issued an official response. The shoe was reportedly removed from Nike’s SNKRS app in some regions, while resale-market premium rumors circulated.
