EthLabs said it has entered its second week of operations and is moving forward with hiring and fundraising while accelerating work on zk-based asynchronous cross-chain interoperability. According to PANews, the Ethereum ecosystem research group said it plans to expand its team to about 10 people in the near term and about 20 in the medium term, and has received more than 300 applications.

On fundraising, EthLabs said it has received initial support from Bitmine, Sharplink, and Joseph Lubin, and is seeking one to two additional anchor backers.

On the technical side, EthLabs said it is speeding up development of zk-based asynchronous cross-chain interoperability. It said safer cross-chain bridges would give issuers more confidence to distribute assets broadly across networks. The group also said it is monitoring the Fast Confirmation Rule for improvements to L1-to-L2 link latency.
