Mexico supporters tried to wake England players with music and fireworks near the team hotel in Mexico City the night before their World Cup last-16 match, but police moved the fans back and formed a barrier around the hotel, according to Yahoo Sports. England’s camp indicated the disruption had little to no impact, and coach Thomas Tuchel said the treatment in Mexico had been “nicer” than expected and that home fans were “friendly and respectful.” The match is scheduled for Sunday evening local time at Mexico City’s Azteca Stadium (01:00 BST, Monday).
