England head coach Thomas Tuchel said his team’s treatment in Mexico had been “nicer than I expected” and that home fans were “friendly and respectful” ahead of Monday’s World Cup last-16 match against Mexico at 01:00 BST (18:00 Sunday local time). England were met by a mix of cheers and jeers as they left their hotel for training under enhanced security in Mexico City, after Ecuador lodged a noise complaint with FIFA following Mexico fans disrupting their sleep last week; Tuchel said FIFA had “took care of the situation” and England expected a good night’s sleep, according to Yahoo Sports.
