A Lebanese delegation led by Khalil Hamdan, special representative of Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, visited Tehran and attended a memorial and tribute event for Iran’s late supreme leader.
According to Jin10, the visit took place on July 4 local time, and Hamdan met with Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi that afternoon.
Hamdan conveyed Berri’s condolences to Iran’s supreme leader, president, government, and people. He said Lebanon highly appreciated Iran’s principled stance on safeguarding Lebanon’s territorial integrity and national sovereignty, and he emphasized Iran’s important role in promoting an end to Israel’s aggression against Lebanon.
Araghchi praised the resilience and spirit of struggle shown by the Lebanese people in responding to Israeli military threats, and he spoke highly of Berri’s role in maintaining unity among Lebanon’s political factions and resisting external interference. He reiterated Iran’s principled position that Israel’s aggression must be completely ended and called for Israeli occupiers to fully withdraw from Lebanese territory.
