Two U.S. officials said the southern shipping lane in the Strait of Hormuz remains open.
According to Jin10, Axios reported that one of the officials said most vessels have been turning off their electronic identification systems while transiting, meaning open-source platforms cannot track them.
The official confirmed that Iran has tried to intimidate ships via very high frequency (VHF) radio.
A second U.S. official said transit frequency through the southern lane has increased in recent days, with about 50 ships passing, and that the lane remains unobstructed.
