Wales’ hopes of securing a FIFA Under-20 World Cup play-off place ended with a 3-0 defeat by Denmark in the UEFA Men’s Under-19 Championship, according to Yahoo Sports. Ollti Hyseni scored twice and Hjallte Larke added a free-kick goal as Denmark advanced to a play-off against the third-placed team from Group B at Bangor’s Nantporth Stadium on Wednesday, with the winner earning a place in the inter-confederation play-offs for the 2027 FIFA Under-20 World Cup. Wales exited Group A after losing all three matches without scoring and finished the Denmark game with 10 men after Jac Thomas was sent off for a second yellow card late on.
