Malaysian police raided and shut down an illegal cryptocurrency mining operation at a warehouse in the Port Klang Free Zone on Pulau Indah, seizing mining equipment and detaining two foreign men aged 20 and 31.
According to Foresight News, Malaysian media outlet the New Straits Times reported that the operation took place yesterday.
Authorities said the alleged activity violates Malaysia’s Penal Code and Electricity Supply Act. If convicted on both charges, the two detainees could face up to 10 years in prison and a fine of 100,000 ringgit.
