Zcash developers said the Ironwood upgrade is moving closer to testnet activation after a critical vulnerability in Orchard raised concerns about ZEC supply integrity. According to NS3.AI, ZEC fell from more than $600 to around $300 following the disclosure and was recently trading at $457, based on CoinGecko data.
Shielded Labs said the largest hurdle to deploying the upgrade is migrating exchanges, wallets, and mining pools to the new Z3 stack.
