China's Ministry of Finance, State Taxation Administration, and Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued a notice adjusting vehicle and vessel tax incentives for energy-saving vehicles and new energy vehicles, according to Ming Pao.
From January 1 next year, China will cancel the policy of halving the vehicle and vessel tax for energy-saving vehicles, and will also cancel the vehicle and vessel tax exemption for pure electric commercial vehicles, plug-in hybrid vehicles, and fuel cell commercial vehicles.
The notice said pure electric passenger vehicles and fuel cell passenger vehicles are not within the scope of vehicle and vessel tax and therefore are not subject to the tax.
