According to Lianhe Zaobao citing AFP, a bus in Pakistan’s southwestern Balochistan province veered off a road in the Dana Sar mountainous area and plunged into a ravine about 21 to 24 meters deep, killing at least 40 people. Zhob district emergency center chief Sherani said on July 3 that the bus was traveling from Quetta to Peshawar; 11 people were injured and taken to hospital, including three in critical condition. A spokesperson for Balochistan’s chief minister said rescue teams from two provinces had arrived at the scene, while Sherani said rugged terrain hampered early rescue efforts.
