Yu Wenjian has been appointed deputy Party secretary and director of the People’s Bank of China (PBOC) Shanghai Head Office, and will also serve as head of the PBOC Shanghai branch and director of China’s State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE) Shanghai branch, according to Jiemian News. The appointment was shown in an update to the “institution leaders” section of the PBOC Shanghai Head Office website on July 3, 2026.
