BitMine Chairman Tom Lee said the ETH/BTC exchange rate has “sufficient reasons” to strengthen in the second half of 2026 and is likely to keep rising throughout 2026.

According to ChainCatcher, Lee attributed the outlook to growing market attention on Ethereum’s “money” narrative and cited three catalysts: continued stablecoin growth, a wave of asset tokenization, and an increase in new forks and projects in the Ethereum ecosystem.

He said these factors are reinforcing Ethereum’s store-of-value characteristics and could improve ETH’s performance relative to Bitcoin.

Lee also pointed to macro and policy factors he believes could support the ETH/BTC ratio, including falling oil prices easing inflation pressure, cryptocurrencies benefiting downstream from the AI narrative, and ongoing progress on the CLARITY Act and the GENIUS Act, which he said keeps a window open for favorable regulation.
