Huatai Securities: Reported US Draft Ban on China-Made Grid-Connected Solar-Storage Inverters May Focus on Network Security

Huatai Securities said a news report claimed the United States is drafting a ban on inverters from China, targeting grid-connected photovoltaic plus energy-storage inverters, and that the measure could be implemented by the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC), according to 36Kr. Huatai Securities said that if the policy is enacted, it may follow prior policy logic and focus on communications and network connectivity security. The brokerage added that Chinese inverter makers exporting to the U.S. have already removed related networking modules and now provide inverter-only functions, and that some companies may fall outside the scope of the reported restrictions. Huatai Securities said it sees allocation opportunities in energy storage and power equipment after recent market adjustments.
