Russia’s central bank governor Elvira Nabiullina said the country is ready for a Sept. 1 launch of the digital ruble. According to NS3.AI, the comments indicate the central bank is prepared to begin rolling out the central bank digital currency on that date.
Bank of Russia first deputy governor Vladimir Chistyukhin said the enabling law for the digital ruble will be enacted on Sept. 1. He added that the rollout will include a transition period lasting until July 2027.
