Missouri Representative Jason Smith said the US needs to ensure it remains the leader in artificial intelligence rather than China, according to Bloomberg.
Smith, a Republican, made the comments in an interview on Bloomberg Television’s Balance of Power, where he also discussed the one-year anniversary of the One Big Beautiful Bill and recent news involving OpenAI.
Asked about the USMCA, Smith said the Trump administration is seeking a better trading relationship through its decision not to renew its trade pact with Canada and Mexico.
