Astar Network has launched Bridged USDC, a cross-chain version of USDC, and said it will replace several older cross-chain assets, including ceUSDC.
According to Foresight News, the deployment was completed by Swapper Finance using Circle’s Bridged USDC standard and Chainlink CCIP.
The report said that when users transfer USDC across chains, native USDC is locked on the source chain and an equivalent amount of Bridged USDC is minted on Astar. It added that the process does not use liquidity pools and does not involve slippage.
Foresight News also reported that the setup leaves a path for a future upgrade to native USDC.
