HM Treasury said a Thursday update to the UK payments roadmap includes tokenization and new forms of digital money, and sets out a crypto licensing window under the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) running from September until Feb. 28, 2027.
According to NS3.AI, the roadmap update calls for emerging forms of digital money to be able to interact with traditional payment systems.
Under the FCA framework, crypto firms must obtain authorization to operate in the UK.
