India’s oil minister Hardeep Puri said India needs to expand its oil and fuel storage capacity during periods of low oil prices and strengthen communication with bilateral partners.
According to Jin10, Puri said total crude inventories currently held across ports, terminals, refineries, and the country’s strategic petroleum reserves are only enough to last 76 to 80 days. He added that New Delhi “should store more.”
Puri said the crisis in the Gulf region was “perhaps one of the lessons” India had learned, adding that the country had learned from it and would work to increase storage capacity.
