CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost said repeated claims that “the bottom is in” are common in the community, but many people overlook what a “bottom” means.
According to Odaily, Darkfost wrote that, from a technical perspective, a bottom typically refers to the lowest point that appears during a trend reversal process, which in extreme cases may be reflected by the deepest lower wick on a candlestick, even on very short timeframes.
He said most investors are unlikely to buy at that exact momentary low, arguing that focusing on “buying the bottom” or trying to predict the bottom has limited practical value.
Instead of fixating on an absolute price low, Darkfost recommended focusing on process management in trading and investing, including how to gradually build and adjust risk exposure. He added that position allocation requires ongoing optimization, similar to how bottom formation takes time to confirm.
Darkfost urged market participants to avoid over-relying on narratives such as “the bottom is in” and to focus more on methodology and execution to improve overall risk management.
