A major bank’s 2026 Global Wealth Report said Hong Kong’s average wealth per capita is about $648,000, ranking fourth globally behind Switzerland, the United States and Luxembourg, according to Ming Pao.
The report put Hong Kong’s median wealth at $188,000. It said the number of millionaires in Hong Kong rose by 1,891 from 2024 to 2025 to 628,000, but the growth rate was only 0.3%, below the global level of about 1.5%.
Separately, the report said South Korea’s adult average wealth is $311,260, ranking 19th globally, and that since 2020 South Korea’s per-capita wealth growth has led the world, rising by more than 50%.
