Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said the next round of U.S.-Iran talks was expected to be held soon after the funeral ceremony of Iran’s former supreme leader, Khamenei, ends.
According to Jin10, the ministry said in a July 2 statement that Qatar and Pakistan, acting as mediators, held separate meetings in Doha with negotiating representatives from the United States and Iran.
The statement said the discussions focused on implementing issues related to a U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding. It added that the parties held in-depth talks on several specific matters covered by the memorandum and made “positive progress” on related topics.
Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said the parties agreed to continue negotiations over the coming period and to determine the timing of the next round of talks as soon as possible.
