Tesla CEO Elon Musk said the company’s Optimus humanoid robot would begin mass production at an “extremely slow” pace because the underlying technology is newly developed.
According to Jin10, Musk made the comment after posting on social media a photo of himself at an Optimus production line at Tesla’s Fremont factory in California, prompting renewed discussion about the robot’s manufacturing progress.
A social media user suggested Tesla had recently reduced public demonstrations of Optimus, possibly because mass production was advancing faster than market expectations. Musk rejected that interpretation, saying the initial production phase would be very slow and emphasizing that building Optimus is not comparable to manufacturing cars.
