SK hynix CEO Kwak Noh-jung said on July 2 that the company plans to invest 72.7 billion won in Cheongju to expand its NAND production and advanced packaging facilities. According to Odaily, he made the remarks at a public report meeting on the vision for advanced industrial development in the Chungcheong region.
Kwak said SK hynix will allocate 58.2 billion won to the M17 plant, which produces NAND, and 14.5 billion won to the P&T7 advanced packaging plant.
The M17 project is scheduled to begin construction next year, with production targeted for the first half of 2029. The P&T7 facility is planned for completion by the end of 2027.
