Twenty-nine of the 35 broker “golden stock” indices tracked by Wind posted positive returns in the first half of 2026, with the Ping An Securities Golden Stock Index up 46.51%, according to 36Kr. The China Merchants Securities, Dongxing Securities, and Zheshang Securities golden stock indices were also among the top gainers.
On July 1, 2026—the first trading day of the second half—China’s A-share market closed higher, with the Shanghai Composite Index ending up and sectors including agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery, as well as non-bank financials, leading gains. Industry participants said they expect greater volatility in July as performance divergence within the technology sector widens, while adding they see no systemic market risk and suggesting positioning around two themes: “growth diffusion” and large-cap value.
