SoftBank Group has resumed negotiations with a lending syndicate for a $10 billion loan backed by its stake in OpenAI.
According to Odaily, SoftBank proposed providing a repayment guarantee to address lenders’ concerns about the difficulty of valuing private companies. Under the proposal, if the OpenAI shares used as collateral decline in value, banks would have recourse to SoftBank.
The lending group is expected to include Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, and Mizuho Group.
