Securitize President Brett Redfearn said tokenized real-world assets could allow retail investors to capture a larger share of value generated from stock lending.
According to NS3.AI, Redfearn pointed to how stock lending revenue is currently distributed at major brokerages. NerdWallet data cited in the report says Robinhood keeps around 85% of associated stock lending revenue, while Charles Schwab splits the revenue 50-50 with customers.
Redfearn argued that tokenization could change how these economics are shared with retail investors by enabling different structures for distributing stock lending proceeds.
