Russia has begun importing gasoline from India by sea to ease fuel shortages triggered by Ukrainian attacks on Russia’s energy infrastructure. According to Jin10, two industry sources said the shortages have been felt across Russia, with rationing in some areas, long lines at gas stations, and record increases in gasoline prices.

The Kremlin said on Tuesday that Russia was in contact with other countries to discuss importing fuel at reasonable prices.

One industry source said at least 60,000 metric tons of gasoline had been shipped from India to Russia. Another source said two tankers had departed, each carrying between 30,000 and 40,000 metric tons of gasoline.
