Omdia: US PC Shipments Fell 7% YoY to 15.8 Million Units in Q1 2026

Omdia data showed US PC shipments (excluding tablets) fell 7.0% year on year to 15.8 million units in Q1 2026, marking the biggest YoY decline since Q3 2023, according to 36Kr. Omdia attributed the downturn to sharp increases in PC memory and storage prices that constrained supply and raised costs, as well as a pull-forward in demand after the Windows 11 upgrade cycle ended, which led to a notable short-term drop in commercial demand. It also cited a base effect: shipments were elevated in Q1 2025 as enterprises stocked up ahead of expected tariffs, while in Q1 2026 channel inventory build was limited and mainly tied to anticipated memory price increases.
