Data Show 95 Private Fund Firms Ranked Among Top Holders of 106 Newly Launched ETFs in H1 2026

ETFs are increasingly being allocated by private fund managers, with data from Simuwang showing that as of June 30, 2026, products under 95 private fund firms appeared among the top 10 holders of 106 ETFs launched in the first half of the year, holding a combined 1.214 billion units. A total of 44 ETFs were heavily allocated by private funds, with private-fund holdings of at least 10 million units each; 11 of those ETFs had private-fund holdings of at least 30 million units. By product, private funds held 51.90 million units of Southern Asset Management’s STAR Market AI ETF, 48.8989 million units of GF Fund’s Securities ETF, and 42.9680 million units of ChinaAMC’s Home Appliances ETF, according to 36Kr.
