Huatai Securities said domestic UP/UPS-grade electronic-grade hydrofluoric acid was priced at 7,885 yuan/ton and 8,750 yuan/ton on June 29, up 19% and 17% from the start of 2026, according to Baichuan Yingfu, 36Kr reported. Huatai attributed the increase partly to higher upstream costs, including sulfuric acid and fluorite, and said demand drivers such as AI computing capacity expansion and semiconductor manufacturing upgrades also provided support. On the supply side, Huatai said effective global capacity for G5-grade products is tight and dominated by Japanese companies, while several Chinese producers are gradually expanding capacity and downstream certification advantages, leaving room for higher localization. The brokerage said large-scale substitution of domestically produced electronic-grade hydrofluoric acid in high-end wafer manufacturing is expected to begin.
