Anthropic Launches Claude Science as OpenAI Releases GeneBench-Pro Benchmark

Anthropic and OpenAI expanded their rivalry into scientific research on Tuesday, with Anthropic launching Claude Science and OpenAI releasing GeneBench-Pro. According to BeInCrypto, Claude Science is a beta AI workbench that unifies databases, code, and compute in one app and can connect to more than 60 scientific databases across genomics, proteomics, and cheminformatics; Anthropic will also fund up to 50 research projects with up to $30,000 in credits each. OpenAI’s GeneBench-Pro includes 129 problems; its GPT-5.6 Sol solved 28.7% at the highest reasoning level and 31.5% in Pro mode.
