Ecuador have complained to World Cup organisers after local media reported around 1,000 Mexico supporters staged a noisy “serenade” outside the team hotel in Mexico City ahead of Ecuador’s last-32 match against co-hosts Mexico. The match is scheduled for Wednesday (02:00 BST) at Mexico City Stadium, where Mexico have won all three of their World Cup games, while Ecuador reached the knockout stages after a shock win over Germany, according to Yahoo Sports.
