Chile’s Financial Market Commission (CMF) has revoked the registration of crypto platform Plusspay after an investigation found alleged ties to the Venezuelan criminal organization Tren de Aragua and claims the platform was used to provide the group with financial support.
According to ChainCatcher, CMF also removed other entities, including Pixeltec and Iuinvest, from eligibility to provide services in the Chilean market for failing to submit complete information on time as required under the Fintech Law.
The affected institutions are barred from expanding to new customers and may only carry out liquidation-related operations and return frozen funds to existing users.
CMF said payment and crypto service providers must improve transparency to help prevent money laundering and illicit fund flows.
