A research note from Minmetals Futures said market talk indicated the Jianxiawo lithium mine had obtained a safety production permit, with progress faster than the market had expected, and it expected lithium carbonate to open lower.
According to Jin10, Minmetals Futures said the market’s main disagreement is over the mine’s actual output level after production resumes, which could have a significant impact on supply-demand balance in the fourth quarter.
Minmetals Futures recommended staying on the sidelines in the short term and waiting for clearer information on the production restart.
