Anthropic’s enterprise AI adoption rose to 41%, surpassing OpenAI at 39.5%, based on spending data from more than 70,000 U.S. business customers analyzed in a new report by fintech firm Ramp’s Economic Lab.
According to ChainCatcher, the updated Ramp AI Adoption Index report also detailed spending patterns among companies it classifies as “deep AI adopters.”
The report said the top 1% of companies by AI spending pay an average of $7,449 per employee per month, and that figure increased 14.1% over the past month. By comparison, the top 10% spend $611 per employee per month, while the median company spends $11.38 per employee per month.
Ramp’s research said companies with deep AI usage generally do not show vendor lock-in, often using multiple frontier models, open-source platforms, and vertical AI solutions at the same time. It added that while some companies facing cost pressure are testing lower-cost models such as DeepSeek, overall enterprise AI spending continues to trend upward.
