Jonathan Tah’s extra-time headed goal was controversially ruled out after a VAR review in Germany’s last-32 World Cup tie against Paraguay, leaving the match level at 1-1. The goal was disallowed for a foul on Paraguay goalkeeper Orlando Gill by Waldemar Anton after referee Jalal Jayed reviewed the incident on the pitchside monitor, according to Yahoo Sports.
Paraguay went on to win a penalty shootout in Boston to knock out four-time champions Germany and advance to the last 16, where they will face either France or Sweden on Saturday.
